Umbris: The borough of the Gnomes Umbris is built and hidden within the very walls and alleys of the packing district, Hermetaecium and the Foreign quarter. When they started making money within the city the gnomes bought up several buildings, remodeled them and then rented them out without anyone realizing they’d claimed space from each building and structure, claiming alleys and dead end streets to link them all together. Once done the walled off regions were turned over to the botanical alchemists of the gnomes and the underground forest of Umbris was born. Reminding the Gnomes of their fey homeland it remains one of the hardest parts of the town to find or enter if you’re not of Gnomish blood or not invited. The Three Moons is a Gnomish Inn and restaurant serving as the center of the community.
High Bridge District: One of only three bridges that cross the Musaard at Helian the High Bridge is built from the bluffs connecting Old Town with the High Market. The bridge is high enough to allow river vessels to pass under its arches easily. The bridge is lined with structures consisting of shops (Clothiers, hats, and dressmakers) and finesmiths (Jewelers, silver and gold smiths and clockmakers). Midway across the span is the old gate-keep that was bought long ago from the city and converted into the River Rose, an upscale Inn and Restaurant that features popular bardic groups and even has a small theater for the latest plays. The areas on either side of the bridge that once served as gatehouses and garrisons have also been converted over the years. The market gatehouse is now the Merchant’s Guildhall with the garrison converted into the Registry Offices where companies (Be they merchant, mercenary or adventuring) must register with the monarchy to be able to legally conduct business within the kingdom. With the fracturing of the kingdom this process has become somewhat difficult but the Principalities do still recognize the Kingdom’s mark… most of the time. The old town gatehouse is now the august Explorer’s club with the attached garrison and former martial precincts a part of the club grounds.
