Birthing your Dude
The most important thing a player must know about his character is his initial Social Level. This depends on the Parents to whom he is born, the wealth, and their titles, if any.These Birth tables provide all the family background necessary to play the game. If a player rolls a 5 or a 6 on this table, also roll on the table called ‘Title of Father’. then continue.
Start with a 1d6 dice roll and see what Class you are born onto.
Title of Father Roll a 1d6 if you were of Nobleman birth.
Next is your Sibling Ranking
Roll another 1d6 and see what Order you were born in.
# Increase initial funds and Allowance by 10%. Also roll another 1d6; on a roll of 1, you are an orphan. You do not receive an Allowance, but receive the Inheritance and your Fathers title, if any.
* Decrease initial Funds and Allowance by 10%.
Next is your Fathers Position. Being we are in a Patriarchy, roll on the tables below that correspond to your first roll of Class.
Eventually all this dice rolling leads to this table. This is your characters starting Social Level (or for now on abbreviated S.L. in some areas) If you were the First son, add 1 to initial Social Level. If you were a Bastard, subtract 1 from initial Social Level. The Social Level grants you special rights and privileges in 16th century France and it can raise and lower depending on your actions in between game sessions.
|SON OF A…||SOCIAL LEVEL|
